Sabrina
POSITIFF (real name — Oleksii Ivanovych Zavhorodnii; born May 19, 1989, in Kyiv) — is a Ukrainian singer, composer, songwriter, arranger and music producer. At different stages of his career, he has performed under the names Pozitiv, POSITIFF and PZT. He gained widespread recognition as a member of the group «Vremya i Steklo», where he worked alongside Nadia Dorofeieva, while also being a member of the electronic group MOЗGI.
Oleksii Zavhorodnii's music career began long before «Vremya i Steklo». In the mid-2000s, he was a member of the hip-hop group New'Z'Cool, collaborated with Potap and gradually became involved in studio work on his projects. In «Vremya i Steklo», POSITIFF was not limited to vocals: he participated in songwriting and arrangement work, including on «Имя 505» — one of the defining Ukrainian pop hits of the 2010s.
After the end of «Vremya i Steklo» and the decline of MOЗGI's active work, Oleksii Zavhorodnii focused on his solo project POSITIFF. Since 2022, Ukrainian-language pop music has formed the core of his repertoire. His notable solo and collaborative releases include «Боже, яке кончене!», «Перед світанком», «Який ти козак», «Спалахи», «Небо нахилю», «Гаснуть ліхтарі», «А може, хочеш?», «Діаманти», «Кайф, мала», «Смак-печаль» and «Не зупиняй вечірку».
Childhood and Creative Family
Oleksii Zavhorodnii was born and raised in Kyiv in a family connected with the performing arts. His father worked in theater, his mother was involved in ballet, while his grandfather had ties to the Hryhorii Veryovka National Honored Academic Ukrainian Folk Choir.
Oleksii Zavhorodnii has a twin sister, Yelyzaveta. As a child, he studied choreography and later added vocals, music and acting. He attended the Kyiv Children's Academy of Arts and took part in theatrical productions.
One of Oleksii Zavhorodnii's first important stage experiences was the «Black Sea Games» festival. According to the musician, he first performed there in front of a large audience at around the age of fifteen and finally decided to pursue a career in music.
At the «Black Sea Games», Oleksii Zavhorodnii met Nadia Dorofeieva — several years before the creation of «Vremya i Steklo».
New'Z'Cool
The first notable group in Oleksii Zavhorodnii's career was the hip-hop act New'Z'Cool. The project was founded by Dmytro Stupka and Vasyl Kotliarov, with Oleksii Zavhorodnii joining the lineup in 2004.
It was during his time in New'Z'Cool that the nickname Pozitiv became associated with him, later becoming the name under which he was widely known.
The group worked with Oleksii Potapenko — Potap, who was involved in creating and producing the material. This collaboration marked the beginning of a long professional relationship between Oleksii Zavhorodnii and Potap.
In 2006, New'Z'Cool released the album «Школа, Кости, Рэп». One of its best-known tracks was «Штольня», connected with the Ukrainian film of the same name and recorded with the group «Вхід у Змінному Взутті».
His work in New'Z'Cool gave Oleksii Zavhorodnii his first serious experience in live performance, songwriting and studio recording.
Work with Potap
After meeting Potap, Oleksii Zavhorodnii gradually became a regular member of his music team. He recorded vocal parts, worked on arrangements, performed at concerts and participated in other studio projects.
During this period, an important aspect of his future career took shape: Oleksii Zavhorodnii developed simultaneously as a performer, composer and arranger.
The Creation of «Vremya i Steklo»
In 2010, Potap and producer Iryna Horova began creating a new pop project. Oleksii Zavhorodnii became its male member, while Nadia Dorofeieva joined him after a casting process.
This was how «Vremya i Steklo» was formed.
The first single, «Так выпала Карта», was released in November 2010. The group's early repertoire was dominated by dance-pop with elements of electronic music and hip-hop. The debut was followed by «Любви Точка Нет», «Серебряное море», «Кафель», «Гармошка», «Слеза» and «Забери».
Within the duo, POSITIFF combined melodic vocals with recitative and also contributed to the musical side of the recordings. This format allowed him to draw on the experience he had gained with New'Z'Cool and Potap's studio team.
«Имя 505»
The major breakthrough for «Vremya i Steklo» came in 2015 with the release of «Имя 505».
The music was written by Oleksii Potapenko and Oleksii Zavhorodnii. POSITIFF also contributed to the arrangement. The track was built around a minimalist electronic beat, short vocal phrases and a rhythmically repetitive chorus.
«Имя 505» became a major online hit, while its music video was the most popular Ukrainian music video on YouTube in 2015. At the M1 Music Awards, the song received the Hit of the Year award.
After this period, the sound of «Vremya i Steklo» became noticeably more minimalistic and rhythm-driven. Songs such as «Песня 404», «Навернопотомучто», «На Стиле», «Тролль», «ТОП», «Е,Бой», «Песня про лицо» and others followed.
VISLOVO and the Final Years of «Vremya i Steklo»
The main discography of «Vremya i Steklo» includes the self-titled 2014 album, the 2015 EP «Глубокий дом» and VISLOVO, released in 2019.
By the VISLOVO period, elements of trap, hip-hop, house and contemporary club-oriented pop had become more prominent in the group's sound.
One of the biggest hits of the group's final stage was «Дим». The song won Hit of the Year at the M1 Music Awards and was named Best Song at the YUNA Awards in 2020.
«Vremya i Steklo» won the YUNA Award for Best Pop Group three years in a row — in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
MOЗGI
Alongside «Vremya i Steklo», Oleksii Zavhorodnii developed another long-running project. In 2014, Potap created the electronic group MOЗGI, whose core lineup consisted of Potap, POSITIFF and Vadym Fedorov, known as Diadia Vadia.
MOЗGI differed significantly from «Vremya i Steklo». Their music combined hip-hop, EDM, electro house and pop, while the lyrics were often built around deliberate absurdity and irony. The members themselves described their style as «electroshawarma».
Among MOЗGI's best-known songs are «Аябо», «Ножомпо», «Хлам», «Вылюби», «Вертолёт», «Полицаи», «Бармен», «Атятя», «Влажный Пляжный Движ», «Полюбэ», «999» and «Ой, Мамо!».
The group's discography includes BIKINI ALBUM, «Электрошаурма», Bar, «На белом», Middle Finger and kyivstyle.
MOЗGI won Project of the Year at the M1 Music Awards in 2016, while in 2017 the same award went to the collaborative project Michelle Andrade feat. MOЗGI for «Amor».
Television and Film
In 2013–2014, POSITIFF co-hosted the music chart show UA TOP 10 on M1 together with Nadia Dorofeieva.
In 2017, Nadia Dorofeieva and POSITIFF became coaches on the fourth season of «The Voice Kids».
In 2020, Oleksii Zavhorodnii competed on «Dancing with the Stars». His partner was choreographer Yuliia Sakhnevych.
In 2021, POSITIFF and Michelle Andrade became hosts of the anniversary season of the travel show «Heads and Tails».
Oleksii Zavhorodnii has also appeared in films, including the Ukrainian comedies «Скажене весілля» and «Велика прогулянка».
The End of «Vremya i Steklo»
On March 11, 2020, Nadia Dorofeieva and POSITIFF announced the end of «Vremya i Steklo» after ten years of working together.
The farewell period was titled «Последний танец». After the project ended, Nadia Dorofeieva launched her solo career as DOROFEEVA, while POSITIFF continued working with MOЗGI for some time and gradually prepared his own material.
The Beginning of POSITIFF's Solo Career
Standalone solo material appeared even before the official launch of the POSITIFF project. During the VISLOVO show in 2020, Oleksii Zavhorodnii performed «Кайф малая», although no studio release followed at the time.
POSITIFF's first official solo single was released in April 2022. The song «Боже, яке кончене!» was built around a wartime internet meme and satirically addressed Russian propaganda and supporters of the invasion of Ukraine.
«Перед світанком», «Додому» and «Який ти козак»
On June 24, 2022, POSITIFF released «Перед світанком» together with Michelle Andrade and Alina Pash. The track combined contemporary hip-hop with Ukrainian ethnic motifs and was dedicated to the defenders of Ukraine.
In autumn, «Додому» with Nastia Baloh followed, and later «Який ти козак» with Anna Trincher.
POSITIFF also took part in the charity song «Шлях до Перемоги» together with Olia Polyakova and Anna Trincher. The project was connected with fundraising in support of the Come Back Alive Foundation.
From this period onward, Ukrainian became the main language of POSITIFF's solo repertoire.
«Спалахи»
On May 19, 2023, POSITIFF released the single «Спалахи», which became one of his most notable solo works.
The music was written by Oleksii Zavhorodnii, Andrii Bezkrovnyi and Roman Katruk, while the lyrics were written by Andrii Bezkrovnyi.
The song is about relationships and memories of intimacy affected by war, distance and a changed way of life. Musically, «Спалахи» combined contemporary Ukrainian pop, electronic rhythms and POSITIFF's characteristic alternation between singing and recitative.
«Небо нахилю»
On August 3, 2023, POSITIFF released «Небо нахилю».
The song was inspired by the story of the musician's friend returning home after an extended period in a combat zone. The composition is built around the anticipation of reuniting with family.
The music was written by Oleksii Zavhorodnii, Roman Katruk and Andrii Bezkrovnyi. In addition to its electronic foundation, the recording also featured bass guitar.
At the end of 2023, POSITIFF also released the collaborative single «Taxi» with the project MULTITREK.
«Гаснуть ліхтарі»
At the beginning of 2024, POSITIFF released «Гаснуть ліхтарі».
Oleksii Zavhorodnii was one of the composers, arrangers and producers of the track together with Roman Katruk. The lyrics were written by Stepan Oliinyk and Andrii Bezkrovnyi.
The song deals with emotional burnout, loneliness and attempts to hide an inner emotional state behind parties and outward activity.
«А може, хочеш?»
In spring 2024, POSITIFF released «А може, хочеш?». The music was written by Oleksii Zavhorodnii, Roman Katruk and Oleksandr Horovyi.
The song focuses on an attempt to rebuild a relationship after a breakup and is structured as contemporary dance-pop: a direct beat, short chorus, recitative verses and a melodic vocal line.
«Діаманти»
In November 2024, POSITIFF released «Діаманти». The music was written by Oleksii Zavhorodnii, Roman Katruk and Oleksandr Horovyi.
Unlike several previous songs about breakups and emotional crises, «Діаманти» focuses on a stable relationship and shared life experience.
Musically, the track continued POSITIFF's main solo direction — melodic pop built around an electronic rhythmic foundation.
«Кайф, мала»
In spring 2025, POSITIFF returned to a song he had first performed back in 2020.
«Кайф, мала» was performed at the VISLOVO concert at the Palace of Sports as a POSITIFF solo number, but it was not officially released at the time.
About five years later, Oleksii Zavhorodnii reworked the composition and presented it in a new Ukrainian-language version.
«Смак-печаль» with DOROFEEVA
On July 10, 2025, DOROFEEVA and POSITIFF released their first new joint song since the end of «Vremya i Steklo» — «Смак-печаль».
The song was written by Ivan Klymenko, Misha Katsurin and Oleksii Zavhorodnii. Ivan Klymenko also produced the recording.
The creators did not attempt to literally recreate the sound of «Vremya i Steklo», although the familiar combination of DOROFEEVA's melodic vocals and POSITIFF's recitative delivery remained.
The release topped Ukrainian streaming rankings, while the song and its video accumulated around 2.5 million combined plays across digital platforms during the first three days.
«Смак-печаль» was a standalone collaboration between two solo artists and did not mark the return of regular activity by «Vremya i Steklo».
«Це не сон»
In December 2025, POSITIFF released the song «Це не сон» together with Yuliia Yurina.
The track was recorded for the Christmas music project «Жив пес Сірко» and combined a contemporary pop arrangement with Ukrainian festive themes.
«Не зупиняй вечірку»
On June 12, 2026, POSITIFF released the single «Не зупиняй вечірку».
Oleksii Zavhorodnii was one of the authors of both the lyrics and music and also participated in creating the arrangement together with Roman Katruk.
The title is not used only in a literal club sense. POSITIFF described the song as a metaphor for an inner drive — an idea, activity or dream that gives a person motivation to keep moving forward.
The music video was directed by Illia Dutsyk, who created a surreal world populated by several characters, each existing in their own rhythm.
Songwriting and Production Work
Studio work has accompanied Oleksii Zavhorodnii throughout his entire career. In «Vremya i Steklo», he contributed to songwriting and arrangements; one of the best-known examples is «Имя 505», written by Oleksii Potapenko and Oleksii Zavhorodnii.
He retained this role in MOЗGI, combining vocals with composition and arrangement work.
In his solo discography, Oleksii Zavhorodnii is credited among the composers and arrangers of «Спалахи», «Небо нахилю», «Гаснуть ліхтарі», «А може, хочеш?», «Діаманти» and «Не зупиняй вечірку».
Musical Style
POSITIFF's musical style has changed along with the projects in which he has participated. New'Z'Cool was primarily associated with hip-hop, early «Vremya i Steklo» with dance-pop, while after «Имя 505» the group's sound incorporated more minimalist electronics, hip-hop and club pop.
MOЗGI allowed him to work with a harder EDM foundation, electro house and rap.
POSITIFF's solo material after 2022 mainly falls within contemporary Ukrainian pop, incorporating elements of electronic music, hip-hop, dance-pop and R&B. A defining feature remains his ability to switch freely between melodic singing and recitative.
Personal Life
In August 2013, Oleksii Zavhorodnii married Anna Andriichuk, whom he had known for many years. In 2021, the couple publicly announced their divorce.
During his participation in «Dancing with the Stars» in 2020, Oleksii Zavhorodnii's partner was dancer and choreographer Yuliia Sakhnevych. They later began a relationship.
In 2024, Oleksii Zavhorodnii and Yuliia Sakhnevych confirmed their relationship and revealed that they were married. POSITIFF later clarified that the wedding had taken place before the public announcement.
On December 27, 2024, the couple welcomed a daughter, Mariia.

POSITIFF as a Solo Artist
By the time he launched his solo project, Oleksii Zavhorodnii already had nearly two decades of experience in groups, production teams and studio work. New'Z'Cool shaped his hip-hop foundation, «Vremya i Steklo» brought him mainstream recognition, while MOЗGI gave him the opportunity to work more deeply with electronic music and arrangements.
In the POSITIFF solo project, this experience was combined with more personal Ukrainian-language material. Oleksii Zavhorodnii continues to work not only as a performer but also as a direct participant in the creation of his music, linking his newer recordings with the studio work he had been doing long before the beginning of his independent discography.
